eSight® Energy’s Next Release to Include ENVI Phase 3 and More
In eSight® Energy’s new release, eSight® 2018.1, we bring you ENVI Phase 3, the latest set of new features aimed at extending ENVI’s capabilities to cover more commodities reporting, actual cost and CO2 display, further customisation in the selection of reporting periods, and organisation of multi-location dashboards. Earlier this year we delivered a massive expansion of ENVI’s capabilities via Phase 2 in the eSight® 2017.2 release. Since its inception, ENVI has been continuously expanded with numerous features to satisfy a widening set of customer requirements. ENVI Phase 3 rounds out the set of functionalities set aside in the original scope for the dashboard.
Also new in 2018.1, a brand-new capability within eSight® – Dynamic Reporting. This enables the combined reporting of multiple analyses onto a single report, which can be viewed interactively on-screen as well as scheduled and distributed via email. This enables flexible reporting, better enabling customers to use our existing analyses to create the specific ad-hoc analyses that are more applicable to their business.
In support of the new Dynamic Reporting, we have taken the opportunity to clean up note taking in eSight®, consolidating the different web controls and unifying the user experience. Now when conducting any type of analysis, notes can be logged against any level object in the tree (previously limited to just sites).
Another new feature, Tree Map Analysis, is a powerful analysis method for analysing large sets of data. This analysis technique provides a visual means of comparing the relative contribution of different sites, regions, and meters to an organisation or portfolio’s overall energy analytics. This includes energy usage, costs, and carbon footprint allowing the user to generate a more intuitive view of energy management across their organisation.
Tags have received a massive uplift in their usability with the introduction of AutoTag configuration rules. Users now can define an “AutoTag Rule” – a set of criteria which, if true, will result in the automatic application of 1 or more tags to tree objects. This enables the tagging of any number of companies, groups, sites, or meters in bulk. Tags can now be assigned to companies, groups, sites, and meters while importing those objects via CSV file. Previously this was a two-step process, such that Tags had to be applied after the tree structure was in place in eSight®. As eSight® continues to evolve and further leverage Tags more and more, this capability is instrumental in enterprise-grade systems.
Matt Dauner, Vice President and Project Manager of eSight® Energy Inc. commented, “We’re excited for customers to get their hands on 2018.1 as it contains some really useful and powerful new functionality. AutoTags are a game changer for anyone with a large number of meters as they enable instantaneous applying of tags across the tree based upon any conceivable combination of criteria. This along with the new TreeMap analysis within High Level Analysis bring powerful new capabilities to an enterprise grade product like eSight. We’ve also packed in a lot more functionality into ENVI, making it an obvious choice for energy dashboards in virtually any industry now. Anyone who hasn’t taken a look at ENVI recently should check it out. Last but certainly not least, we’ve built an all-new Dynamic Reports framework, which enables users to build up an ad-hoc report consisting of any number of analysis templates and include notes on the analyses, and ship this out to other users. This included a revamp to our note-taking framework in eSight as well, which a lot of customers will find a welcomed change!”
eSight® 2018.1 will be released January 31st, 2018.
The new release will also see several smaller additions and updates. For a full summary of all the new features in 2018.1 download the 2018.1 Preview Sheet.
