Data Exchange
Overview
eSight Data Exchange module provides the mechanisms through which data is automatically imported into eSight for analysis.
The module contains a vast range of data drivers which are referenced when importing data from different types of systems and databases.
The Data Exchange module also contains a full reporting facility to ensure that imported data can be validated and reported on at the point of import.
Importing Data
Data may be imported to eSight from an extremely wide range of equipment types and in an extensive number of formats. The Data Exchange module includes the ability to receive this data electronically and to automatically import it to the eSight database.
Common import formats include data from BMS, data loggers and metering systems, spreadsheets, supplier data and SCADA systems.
Full data quality analysis tools are provided to ensure that if there are issues with missing or incorrect data, this can be managed outside of normal analysis techniques.
In addition to the above, eSight also provides a simple method of importing data from sources such as spreadsheets on a manual basis.
Each data import is logged and is searchable so that the user always has full historical information concerning what has been imported to eSight to date.
Data Import Formats
eSight includes a large number of different formats in which data may be imported. This includes data from standard spreadsheets in a multi-column range of formats as well as standard half hourly data from suppliers and Data Collectors and standard industry flows. In total, there are over 40 types of data driver within eSight. In addition, Hawkesbury will develop new drivers for specific formats if required.
eSight also includes a facility to interface with Tridium products running the Niagara framework. This integration uses the oBIX driver and allows eSight to be directly connect to JACE boxes to extract energy and utility data for analysis.
